P90X

I have been working out in a gym since I was a sophomore in high school. At one point I could bench close to 400 lbs. The best work out I have done for results in a short time frame is P90X.  Over the course of 90 days I lost 30 lbs of fat and gained 10 lbs of muscle. I looked great and I felt great. Not only do you get an amazing looking body your balance and coordination is drastically increased.

The program consist of working out 6 days a week for a 3 month period. The first week is the hardest. You will do multiple workouts and the program changes about every 3 weeks to confuse your muscles.

It is a very difficult work out. I would say the difficulty is 8 on a 10 scale for most people. It is hard but it works. I am under the impression that if something is easy it usually will not work. Shortcuts are usually a waste of money.

I highly recommend it for people who are a little heavier than they would like to be and want to slim down and rip up. If this is your goal make sure you do the diet. The diet will contribute to 60% of your success.

Dexter

My favorite TV series is Dexter on Showtime. If you  have never watched this wildly popular show, here is a brief description. During the day Dexter is a blood splatter analyst who works for the Miami Metro police department. At night Dexter is a serial killer. However, Dexter's targets are other serial killers. Also, he is in no way killing to make the world a better place. But, it is a nice afterthought.

Throughout the series you really like Dexter, the serial killer, and hope for his success and fear for his capture.

Yes, I know this makes me look a little deranged to like this show. However, I wish I were in your shoes being able to start the series at episode one and watch every episode with new eyes again. Believe me when I say you will love Dexter and immediately be hooked.

Dawn of the Dead 1978 George A. Romero

Zombie movies and books have become the new rage lately. I have always enjoyed the genera. My favorite zombie movie is Dawn of the Dead the 1978 version directed by George A Romero.

The only thing that is similar between the 1978 version and the 2004 version is that it takes place in a mall and there are zombies.  Don't get me wrong the 2004 movie is good just not in my top 5 zombie movies.

Dawn of the Dead features slow moving zombies and tracks the progress of some of the living survivors taking refuge in a mall. It was made as a commentary to our consumer lifestyle. Not only is it a good zombie movie, it has been named as one of the best horror movies ever made.

This is the movie that got me interested in zombie genera. It is the best zombie movie ever made. A close second is Night of the Living Dead (the original).

In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks By Adam Corolla

Before I read Adam Corlla's first book I had no idea what a man's man he was. His book details the pussification of American men. He also briefly discusses how women are becoming men and how we are changing gender roles. Men need to start being manly again.

Adam's book is excellent. One thing that really surprised me was how conservative he is. He does not define himself as a conservative but goes with the policy that makes the most sense.

After reading his opinion on almost everything you can think of in his two books, I have decided Adam Corolla is a genius. If you don't think he is a genius you will have to conclude he has some of the best street smarts around.

This book is not just for men. But I think every man that reads it will enjoy it.

Harley Davidson Motorcycle

I am under the impression that every man should at least know how to ride a motorcycle. How many action movies have you seen where the hero must ride a motorcycle to save the day? Even Homer Simpson used a motorcycle to save Springfield in the Simpson movie.

I am in love with my Harley and nothing is more relaxing and enjoyable for me than riding my HOG up a canyon or on a long ride down the highway. It is my therapy after a long day at work or a rough night at home.

If you want to keep your man card, learn how to ride a motorcycle. You might even get addicted.

Boom! Audio Cruiser Amp and Speaker Kit for Harley Davidson Motorcycles

The Boom! Audio cruiser amp and speaker kit is the best way to listen to some tunes while riding down the road on your Harley Davidson. Other kits do not provide the same volume and quality. You can be riding down the highway going 75 mph and still hear your music.

Nothing is more manly than driving your overly loud motorcycle while listening to your music at an inhuman level. I completely recommend this system for your Harley Davidson.

The kit mounts directly to your handle bars or Windshield. You can also purchase a magnetic case that mounts directly to your tank for your Ipod or Iphone access.

You can buy one at the following web address:

Olukai Sandals

The first product I must share with the men are Olukai Sandals.  All men must have sandals. The only thing more freeing than sandals is bare feet. My problem with most pairs of sandals is they are flimsy and/or uncomfortable.  I need to be able to do manly activities in my sandals. If I decide to shoot hoop, run down the street, or go on a hike, I want to be able to wear my sandals.

Most of my old pairs (that are now in my garbage can) broke within 6 months, or gave me lacerations on my feet. I have owned almost every brand of sandal.  The best brand hands down is Olukai. They are made in Hawaii, where most locals wear slippers (what Hawaiians call sandals) everyday.  Olukai sandals have a sole that is just like a shoe. Which in turn provides arch support. Another important fact is that they don't have some crazy hippie lashing device to put the sandal on my foot. If I have to sit down and lash a sandal to my foot I might as well wear a shoe.

They cost between $70.00- $100.00 retail.  I know this seems outrageous. I almost never tried them because of the price. But I now know that they are worth it. My original pair is working on its second year. They are still just as comfortable as the day I purchased them. Do your self a favor and toss your old navy sandals that your wife bought you in the trash and treat your self to a man's sandal. You will never regret your purchase of the Olukai Sandals.

You can buy the Olukai Sandals at the following retailers:

Blog Dedication

Are you sick of all of the non-manly blogs? I recently have tried to find blogs or even just websites for manly men. I have not found one that I think makes the cut. It might be that blogs themselves are not considered manly.  I am creating my blog for all of the manly men out there and I am going to focus on the following three areas:

1. Cool products I cannot live without
2. Movies and books that will interest a man's man.
3. Places a guy should visit. This can be restaurants, mancation locations, and sporting/activities men should participate in.

I am going to start listing my favorite items and give you a short description of why they are awesome and manly. I am open to and encourage comments and suggestions. As men we cannot ever have to many toys or find to many ways to have fun. Please help me find them all.
